Sanju Samson gave India a flying start in their T20 World Cup match against Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday, February 12. Playing his first-ever T20 World Cup game, the right-hander opened his account with a six and then hit Ben Shikongo for two sixes in a row in the next over.

Samson showed his power in the second over of India’s innings. Shikongo bowled a short ball, and Samson flicked it over backward square leg for a six into the stands. The bowler tried a similar delivery again, but Samson sent it even further for another big six. He then hit a four, but was dismissed on the last ball of the over.

Sanju Samson scored 22 runs from just eight balls, striking at an impressive rate of 275. His quick knock included three sixes and a four. The wicketkeeper-batter got his chance in the team because Abhishek

Sharma was unwell and missed the match. Abhishek is still uncertain for the big game against Pakistan in Colombo on Sunday, February 15.

Sanju Samson Falls After Blazing Start For India

Sanju Samson got out after giving India a strong start against Namibia in the T20 World Cup 2026 match. Even though he lost his wicket early, India are still the clear favourites to win.At the time of writing, India were 43 for 1 after four overs, with Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma batting.

The defending champions began their campaign with a 29-run win over the USA. Suryakumar Yadav played a brilliant knock of 84 not out from 49 balls, and Mohammed Siraj took three wickets. India are now looking to lift their third T20 World Cup title.

The Men in Blue have not won a bilateral series since the last T20 World Cup, but they did win the Asia Cup 2025 during this period.In contrast, Namibia were beaten by the Netherlands by seven wickets in their first match of the T20 World Cup 2026.
