[WATCH]- Shadab Khan Grabs An Exceptional Catch To Dismiss Babar Azam In The 2024 PSL Eliminator

In the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) Eliminator match at the National Stadium in Karachi on Saturday, March 16, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan executed a remarkable catch to dismiss Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam.

Shadab, after winning the toss, chose to bowl first. Peshawar Zalmi had a strong start with openers Saim Ayub and Babar Azam contributing 72 runs for the first wicket.

The two-time champions of PSL saw their captain departing in the fourth delivery of the eighth over delivered by the 21-year-old fast bowler Naseem Shah. Babar Azam, attempting to loft the ball over mid-off, was caught by Shadab Khan just a few meters inside the 30-yard circle.

Peshawar Zalmi concluded their innings at 185-5 within the allotted 20 overs. Islamabad United comfortably chased down the target of 186, securing victory by five wickets with an over remaining. Shadab Khan grabs an outstanding catch to dismiss Babar Azam. You can watch the video here:

Multan Sultans will face Islamabad United in the final of the 2024 PSL

After securing the top position with 14 points, the Multan Sultans earned a direct entry into this season’s final by defeating Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets in the qualifier match.

Following Islamabad United’s victory over Peshawar Zalmi in Eliminator 2, the grand finale of this year’s tournament will feature Multan Sultans and Islamabad United at the National Stadium in Karachi on Monday, March 18.

This year, Multan Sultans will compete in their fourth consecutive final, aiming to overcome their streak of finishing as runners-up in the past two editions. They were defeated by Lahore Qalandars in both the 2022 and 2023 finals.

However, the Sultans clinched victory in the 2021 PSL by defeating Peshawar Zalmi by 47 runs in the final held at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
