Team India are currently taking on South Africa in the third and deciding ODI at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday, October 11. Shahbaz Ahmed, who is playing his second ODI, made an immediate impact with the ball, dismissing Aiden Markram.
After a little rain delay break, Indian captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and decided to field first. The Men in Blue went unchanged from the last encounter played at Ranchi. It was a perfect start for the hosts as Mohammed Siraj grabbed the wickets of Janneman Malan and Reeza Hendricks to leave visitors in trouble. At the end of the first 10 overs, India reduced South Africa to 26 for 3.
Shahbaz Ahmed was introduced into the attack and produced a lovely delivery to dismiss Markram with a sharp catch by Sanju Samson to leave visitors in big trouble. It was a tossed-up delivery, drawing Markram forward on the drive.
It dipped on him and turned away and he nicks it through to the keeper. He was dragged out of his crease as well in trying to reach for the ball, so he would’ve been stumped if there was no edge.

The Indian team kept piling pressure on the South African batting as their top players Quinton de Kock, Hendricks, Janneman Malan, and Aiden Markram went cheaply in the deciding encounter.
The Indian team would be high on confidence as they chased down 279 runs in the second ODI against a strong South African bowling unit. Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan put on 161 runs for the third wicket laying a solid foundation.

Shahbaz Ahmed was handed his maiden international cricket during the second ODI in Ranchi. He grabbed his first wicket via review for LBW. The umpire gave not out but on review, it was overturned to out leaving South Africa in trouble. He then took a decent catch to dismiss Reeza Hendricks at deep midwicket.
The left-handed spinner from Bengal had a decent season for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2022. He made 219 runs from 16 matches (11 innings) with the highest score of 45. His performance with the ball was not great as he took just 4 wickets from 16 matches (14 innings) going at an economy of 9.60 runs per over.
