Team India thrashed West Indies 3-0 to clean sweep the three-match ODI series. The visitors defeated the hosts by 119 runs in the third game on Wednesday at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad to clinch the seres.

The Men in Blue marked their 12th consecutive series win over the West Indies side following a clean sweep in the Caribbean. Batting first, India posted 225/3 after rain brought the curtains down to their innings, with Shubman Gill stranded at 98*. In reply, West Indies were bowled out for 137 with Yuzvendra Chahal returning with figures of 4/17 in his four overs.

Stand-in Team India skipper Shikhar Dhawan led the celebrations in the dressing room following a resounding ODI series win. The veteran batter encouraged the entire contingent to chant “Who are we? Champions” after an inspiring speech to the newcomers. Players, support staff, and other members came in unison and chimed in with resounding chants.

Addressing the dressing room after an all-round performance in the rain-curtailed encounter, Shikhar Dhawan thanked the coaches for supporting the side.

“First of all, as a team, we would like to thank the support staff and all of the members who have helped us, really appreciate your support. Well done boys, the batting unit as well as the bowling unit, you guys were amazing, whatever we discussed before this series, that we are a process-oriented team, and you guys have already started taking those steps. I’m sure you guys are going to go a long way,” Dhawan said.

Shikhar Dhawan will be next seen in action during the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe next month.
