Powerful Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Shivam Dube is gearing up for the much-awaited IPL 2025 clash against RCB in Chennai with intense training. During a practice session, he struck the ball with such force that it tore through a banner in the top tier of Chepauk Stadium.

In a video shared by CSK on Instagram, Dube was seen grinning after his powerful shot damaged the banner. The footage clearly shows the torn banner, highlighting the impact of his hard-hitting strokes.

CSK retained Shivam Dube for ₹12 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. So far, he has featured in 66 IPL matches, striking a total of 102 sixes. In the previous season, he hit 28 sixes in 14 games, while in 2023, he smashed 35 sixes. The left-handed batter will take the field when CSK faces Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Friday, March 28, at Chepauk Stadium.

Shivam Dube remains a vital player for CSK

Shivam Dube became part of CSK in the 2022 season and has been a key performer with the bat over the past three years. In his debut season for the franchise, he accumulated 289 runs in 11 matches, maintaining an average of 28.90 and an impressive strike rate of 156.21.

Shivam Dube played a key role in CSK’s 2023 title win, scoring 418 runs in 16 matches. Despite CSK finishing fifth in 2024, he impressed with 396 runs in 14 games. In the 2025 opener against Mumbai Indians, CSK won, but Dube managed only nine runs off seven balls.

With CSK now set to take on RCB in their second game of the season, the left-hander will be eager to regain form and contribute significantly with the bat. The team will look to build on their winning momentum, and Dube’s performance could be crucial to their success.
