Indian star batsman Shreyas Iyer bumped into Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, at Mumbai airport on Wednesday, September 24. Ibrahim, who recently appeared in the film ‘Sarzameen,’ was seen sharing a warm hug and a chat with Iyer, a moment captured in a video shared by the Instagram account ‘filmygyan.’

Shreyas Iyer was recently in action as captain of India A in the first unofficial Test against Australia A in Lucknow. The right-handed batter struggled, scoring only eight runs in his sole innings, with the match ending in a draw despite some resilient moments. He later withdrew from the ongoing second game against Australia A to manage his workload.
According to Cricbuzz, the 30-year-old has requested the BCCI for a brief break from red-ball cricket to concentrate on revamping his fitness routine and improving his overall form. This move comes ahead of India’s upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies, which begins on October 2 in Ahmedabad.
Shreyas Iyer’s International Cricket Stats
Shreyas Iyer debuted for India in November 2017 in a T20I against New Zealand. Since then, the middle-order batter has played 51 T20Is, scoring 1,104 runs at an average of 30.66 with a strike rate of 136.12, including eight half-centuries. In ODIs, Iyer has appeared in 70 matches, accumulating 2,845 runs at an impressive average of 48.22 and a strike rate of 100.00, with five hundreds and 22 fifties.
He was also part of India’s victorious squad in the 2025 Champions Trophy under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, contributing significantly with his consistent batting performances. The Mumbai cricketer has played 14 Tests, scoring 811 runs at an average of 36.86, including one hundred and five fifties, with his highest score of 105 coming on debut against New Zealand in 2021.
