India’s right-handed batter Shreyas Iyer dominated the recently concluded T20I series against Sri Lanka with his consistent performance. India whitewashed the series 3-0 on Sunday at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

Shreyas Iyer won the Player of the Series award for his magnificent batting display. He slammed 240 runs in three games, without being dismissed even once. While the Mumbai batter lit up the stadium with his spectacular batting, his slap-shot against Lahiru Kumara amazed the fans.

In the fourth over of the Indian innings, in the third T20I, Shreyas Iyer shuffled across the line to make room for himself and slammed a short delivery towards backward point for a four against Lahiri Kumara. The Indian batter slammed a couple of more boundaries to take away 15 runs from the over.

Reflecting on his performance, Shreyas Iyer expressed that he likes to finish off the games. The batter added that he just wants to enjoy each opportunity he gets in the team. Shreyas further said, that when the competition is high, one needs to be flexible to bat at any position.

’Coming not out in all three games is a commendable performance from my side, I am not keeping any expectations, if you see competition in our team, it is immense. Just want to enjoy each and every opportunity. I like to finish off the games and that is my mindset. I cannot talk about cementing my place. Competition is so much, you need to be flexible in batting at any position,” said Shreyas Iyer.

After a whitewash in the T20I series, India will take on Sri Lanka in a two-match test series from March 4 in Mohali.
