[WATCH] Shubman Gill Arrives In Style In His Car Post PBKS vs GT IPL 2026 Match

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill was seen arriving in style at Chandigarh Airport on Wednesday, April 1, after his team’s IPL 2026 opening match against Punjab Kings. In that match at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Gill was the highest scorer for his team, even though they lost by three wickets. He made 39 runs from 27 balls, hitting six fours.

GT scored 162/6 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. PBKS chased down the target in 19.1 overs with three wickets left. Debutant Cooper Connolly played a match-winning knock of 72* off 44 balls to help his team win. The next day, Gill was spotted at the airport with his sister Shahneel, arriving in his new luxury Mercedes-Benz AMG SL55 Roadster, which reportedly costs around ₹2.34 crore (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans will now travel to Ahmedabad, where they will face the Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium in an evening match on Saturday, April 4.

“You didn’t bowl him” – Aakash Chopra takes aim at Shubman Gill after GT loss

Former India opener Aakash Chopra was not very impressed with Shubman Gill’s captaincy in the match against Punjab Kings. He questioned why Gill brought Prasidh Krishna into the bowling attack so late.

The right-arm fast bowler came on to bowl only in the 13th over but made an instant impact by dismissing Shreyas Iyer on the very first ball. He bowled really well and finished with figures of 3 wickets for 29 runs in his 4 overs.

Chopra pointed out that by the time Gill brought in his main bowler, PBKS were already close to winning the match. Speaking about it on his YouTube channel, he said:

“What has happened to Shubman Gill’s captaincy? I ask this question because Prasidh Krishna was playing, but you weren’t bowling him at all. 12 overs had passed, the opposing team had almost won the match, then you brought in Prasidh Krishna, he took three wickets in three overs, and the game became slightly thrilling, but what’s the point?”

Prasidh Krishna was the Purple Cap winner in IPL 2025. The Gujarat Titans fast bowler took 25 wickets in 15 matches, with an economy rate of 8.27.
