[WATCH]- Shubman Gill Enjoys Meal At Kohli’s Gurgaon Eatery Before England Series

Team India’s new Test skipper Shubman Gill visited Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune restaurant in Gurgaon ahead of the upcoming five-match Test series in England, which kicks off on Friday, June 20, at Headingley, Leeds.

Gill was seen at the restaurant over the weekend before Team India’s departure, accompanied by a few friends. The 25-year-old sported a white t-shirt layered with a black and white sweatshirt, paired with black pants. The restaurant shared a photo and a video on Instagram, capturing Gill posing for pictures and signing autographs for young fans.

While Shubman Gill will captain the Indian side in England, Virat Kohli will be watching from the sidelines following his recent retirement from Test cricket. Kohli represented India in 123 Tests, amassing 9,230 runs at an average of 46.85, including 30 centuries and 31 half-centuries.

Shubman Gill gears up for England Test challenge as new captain

Shubman Gill’s first stint as India’s Test captain comes with a tough task — leading the side in an overseas series against England. With experienced names like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravichandran Ashwin missing from the squad, Gill will have to shoulder added responsibility.

This series also marks the start of a fresh World Test Championship (WTC) cycle for India, adding to its significance. The team will be looking to recover from recent Test series defeats — at home to New Zealand and away in Australia. While much attention will be on Gill’s captaincy, his performance with the bat will also be closely watched.

The 25-year-old has featured in 32 Tests, scoring 1,893 runs at an average of 35.05, including five centuries and seven fifties. However, Gill has struggled in England so far, managing only 88 runs in three Tests at an average of 14.66, with a best score of 28. As captain, he’ll be eager to improve those numbers and set the tone against a strong English side.
