Shubman Gill, an Indian opening batsman, played an important role in the Champions Trophy (CT) 2025. Gill’s dad has been very much engaged with his cricketing career since the early days. Post the match, Gill’s father was seen doing Bhangra with Rishabh Pant to celebrate the win against New Zealand in the finals. Shumban Gill’s father was happy and was seen hugging Pant in the video and then inviting him to do a few Bangra steps. While Rishabh Pant did not get to play a single match in the tournament, him being on the bench meant one thing, this Indian team is too strong.

Pant would make it to the playing 11 of any team in the world today. Team India, however, wanted to find the perfect balance and hence played Axar Patel ahead of him and asked KL Rahul to keep the wickets.

Rishabh Pant hasn’t been very consistent with the bat in the ODI (One Day Internationals) format. However, with Pant, it is always a trump card kind of move. One doesn’t know what he will do in a given day. Either he will get out cheaply, or take the match away from the opponents faster than the speed of light.

Gill scored 31 off 50 balls in the finals against New Zealand. He built a strong partnership with Rohit Sharma to help India get a great foundation. Gill has been one of the best ODI batsman for India in the last year or so. He averages 59.65 in the format after playing 54 games and has eight centuries and fifteen half centuries in ODIs. Pant and Gill are the future of the Indian cricket and are only getting started.
