Richa Ghosh was one of India’s key performers in the 2025 World Cup, scoring 235 runs in eight matches at an impressive average of 39.16 and a strike rate of 133.52. The right-hander delivered vital contributions in the knockout stages, scoring 26 off 16 balls in the semifinal against Australia and 34 off 24 deliveries in the final versus South Africa.
Over the course of her 51-match ODI career, Ghosh has accumulated 1,145 runs from 49 innings, which includes seven half-centuries.
“If It’s In My Zone, I Hit It” – India Wicketkeeper Reveals Batting Mantra After World Cup Win
Richa Ghosh expressed that she loves playing attacking cricket and aims to fulfill her role as a finisher, especially after India’s World Cup triumph. Speaking to The Indian Express, she said:
“My mindset is simple. Whenever I come to bat, if the ball is in my zone, I go for my shots. Hitting a boundary or a six in a pressure situation really helps release the tension. If it’s a good delivery, I’m happy to take a single and target the next ball. That’s the method I stick to.”
“My main job was to finish innings strongly by scoring quickly in the final overs. Whenever I got the chance to bat, my focus was on applying the finishing touches. I aimed to maintain a high strike rate and put pressure on the opposition bowlers. Scoring those extra runs reduces the pressure on our team and gives us a better chance to win,” he added.
