[WATCH] Star Sports’ Emotional IPL 2025 Advertisement Wins Hearts

As the IPL 2025 season draws near, Star Sports Network, the tournament’s official broadcaster, has released an emotional promotional campaign that has resonated deeply with cricket fans. The heartwarming advertisement captures the special bond between a mother and her son, bringing an emotional touch to the excitement surrounding the new season.

With IPL fever already gripping the nation, the tournament is set to begin on March 22, featuring an opening clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. To build anticipation, Star Sports launched a touching ad that showcases the emotional connection between families and the IPL.

A Heartfelt Tribute to Mother-Son Bond

The Star Sports promo beautifully highlights the love and sacrifices of a mother. The advertisement features a mother staying up late at night to watch IPL matches, even though she does not fully understand all the details of the game. When her husband asks why she is awake, she reveals that IPL gives her an extra 10 minutes of daily conversation with her son, who stays in a hostel.

This simple yet profound storyline has struck a chord with fans, making the video go viral across social media. Many viewers praised Star Sports for blending cricket and emotions, showcasing how the IPL is more than just a tournament—it’s a connection between loved ones.

Meanwhile, the IPL 2025 season is set to conclude on May 25, with the final match being played at the same venue where the tournament begins. KKR will enter as the defending champions, having won the title last year in a dominant final against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

BCCI Introduces Partial Replacement Rule for IPL 2025

In a significant policy update, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has introduced a Partial Replacement Rule for IPL 2025, allowing teams to make temporary replacements under specific conditions. If a player sustains a season-ending injury before or during a team’s 12th league match, the franchise will be permitted to bring in a replacement.

Additionally, a special exemption has been granted for wicketkeepers. If a franchise does not have a fit wicketkeeper available for a match, they can request a temporary replacement from the BCCI. However, the substitute will be removed as soon as a regular wicketkeeper recovers and is available for selection.
