[WATCH]- Sunil Narine Ends Rahul Tripathi’s Scratchy Innings With A Sharp Delivery In CSK vs KKR IPL 2025 Clash

Sunil Narine, the star all-rounder for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), dismissed Rahul Tripathi during their IPL 2025 encounter against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk on Friday, April 11. The off-spinner broke Tripathi’s disappointing innings, which yielded just 16 runs from 22 balls. With that wicket, Narine put CSK in deeper trouble at 65/4.

The breakthrough came in the 11th over of CSK’s innings. Narine delivered a flighted ball outside off stump that sharply turned in after pitching. Tripathi, attempting to create space and play it on the offside, misjudged the turn. The ball sneaked through the gap between bat and pad and hit the off stump.

Rahul Tripathi‘s struggles with the bat continued, following low scores of 2, 5, and 23 in his last three appearances for CSK this season. In contrast, Sunil Narine claimed his third wicket of the IPL 2025 campaign, having gone wicketless in the previous match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

During the same match, Narine surpassed Dwayne Bravo’s tally of 183 wickets to break into the top five all-time wicket-takers in IPL history. Yuzvendra Chahal leads the chart with 206 wickets in 164 matches, with no other bowler crossing the 200-wicket mark.

KKR take command as CSK struggle in IPL 2025 showdown

Ajinkya Rahane’s Kolkata Knight Riders are in firm control against CSK in their IPL 2025 encounter on Friday. Chennai’s top order faltered, with Vijay Shankar being the only bright spot, scoring 29 off 21 balls — though he was dropped twice before finally getting out.

Rahul Tripathi and Devon Conway were the only other batters to reach double figures. Rachin Ravindra and Ravichandran Ashwin were dismissed cheaply, both falling for single-digit scores. Ravindra Jadeja was out for a two-ball duck, while Impact Player Deepak Hooda’s poor form continued as he was dismissed for a four-ball duck.

CSK have now suffered four consecutive losses, with their only win this season coming against the Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, KKR have picked up their second victory in five matches.
