India captain Suryakumar Yadav told his team not to sledge Pakistan’s batters during the second innings of their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 match on 15 February at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. India dominated the match once again, beating Pakistan by 61 runs.

In a video released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Suryakumar can be seen giving a clear message to his teammates. He asked them to focus on their skills instead of engaging in verbal battles on the field, encouraging the team to let their batting and bowling performance speak for itself.

“Keep running between the overs. Don’t say anything to anyone — we have to play good cricket. We will win this game through good skill,” Suryakumar said in the video released by the BCCI.

Pakistan Agrees To Play After ICC Steps In; India Keeps No-Handshake Policy

The match came amid some controversies, as Pakistan had reportedly threatened to pull out before the tournament but later agreed to play after the International Cricket Council stepped in. India stuck to their ‘no-handshake policy’ with their rivals, but there was no on-field drama, and players kept things professional.

Once the game started, India quickly took control. Ishan Kishan led the way with a powerful 77 off 40 balls, helping India post a strong total of 175. Pakistan’s chase never really got going, as India’s bowlers tightened their grip. Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel each picked up two wickets, keeping Pakistan under pressure throughout.

Pakistan were finally bowled out for 114, giving India a convincing 61-run win. This victory reinforced India’s dominance over their rivals, bringing the T20 World Cup head-to-head record to 8–1 in India’s favor. With this win, India also secured their place in the Super 8 stage of the tournament.
