Team India bowler Kuldeep Yadav spun a web around the Sri Lankan batters during the second ODI on Thursday, January 12 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He pulled a great performance, as Team India won the match by four wickets. Kuldeep was adjudged the Player of the Match for his vital three-wicket haul. Post-match, he engaged in a fun conversation with Yuzvendra Chahal.

The leg-arm spinner replaced Yuzvendra Chahal in the playing XI as the latter had to sit out as he was unfit. Kuldeep first dismissed Sri Lankan wicket-keeper batter Kusal Mendis for 34 runs. Charith Asalanka got out caught and bowled against the Indian bowler. The 28-year-old also send back skipper Dasun Shanaka, who has been in great form this tour.

In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Kuldeep Yadav thanked Yuzvendra Chahal for giving him valuable “inputs” as it helped him to get used to the conditions. He said,

“I would like to thank you for your suggestions. You played the entire T20I series and the previous one-dayer as well. I was coming into white-ball cricket straight from a Test match. You gave inputs. Since you were playing so much with the boys, you had an idea of how to bowl, so thank you for it. These small inputs are very important. Of course, we are not playing together so much on the field these days, but the outside inputs I get from you are also very helpful.”

Yuzendra Chahal jokingly added, “Surya ke to hum batting coach hain, ab Kuldeep Yadav ke bhi bowling coach ban Gaye. Yeh note kar lijiye.”
