India Outclass New Zealand In 5th T20I Thanks To Yadav And Kishan

A masterful batting display by Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan powered India to dominate New Zealand in the fifth T20I. The pair stitched together a 147-run partnership for the third wicket. Yadav scored 63 off 30 balls, including six sixes and four boundaries, before being stumped by wicketkeeper Tim Seifert off Mitchell Santner’s bowling.

Meanwhile, Kishan recorded his maiden T20I century in just 42 deliveries. Earlier, Sanju Samson struggled again, departing for a low score of six, while Abhishek Sharma continued his fine form with a quickfire 30 off 16 balls, providing India with another explosive start.

At the time of writing, India were 226/3 after 17 overs, with Kishan on 103 off 42 and Hardik Pandya contributing 19 off 9. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side aims to cap the series on a high after a 50-run loss in the fourth match, although they have already secured an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.

India will next face the USA in their opening game of the 2026 T20 World Cup in Mumbai on February 7. New Zealand, on the other hand, have a challenging chase ahead in the ICC event, starting their T20 World Cup campaign against Afghanistan in Chennai on February 8.
