India Crush New Zealand By 7 Wickets In 2nd T20I At Raipur
In a scintillating display of power hitting and clinical chasing, Team India surged to a convincing 7-wicket victory over New Zealand in the second T20I of the five-match series at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium on January 23, 2026. With this win, India took a 2-0 lead in the series.
New Zealand batted first and scored 208/6 in 20 overs, with important contributions from Mitchell Santner (47 off 27 balls) and Rachin Ravindra (44 off 26). India’s bowlers kept things tight in the middle overs, with Kuldeep Yadav picking up 2 wickets to restrict the visitors to just over 200.
Chasing 209, India faced an early setback as Sanju Samson (6) and Abhishek Sharma (0) were dismissed cheaply, but the innings gained momentum through a remarkable partnership between Ishan Kishan and captain Suryakumar Yadav.
Ishan Kishan smashed 76 off 32 balls, while skipper Suryakumar Yadav remained unbeaten on 82 off 37 deliveries as India stormed to 209/3 in 15.2 overs, winning with 28 balls. Shivam Dube’s quick 36 off 18 balls* sealed one of the fastest successful 200-plus chases in T20I history.
