[WATCH]: Team India Celebrate Chandrayaan-3’s Successful Moon Landing Before The 3rd T20I vs Ireland

Team India observed the India Space Research Organisation (ISRO) make history as Chandrayaan-3 accomplished a smooth touchdown on the southern pole of the moon, establishing India as the pioneer in achieving this accomplishment. The mission commenced on July 14 and concluded on Wednesday, August 23. This effort marked a second try after Chandrayaan-2’s unfortunate crash landing four years earlier.

India has now joined an exclusive group consisting of only the United States of America, China, and Russia, by achieving a successful landing on the lunar surface. Similar to numerous Indians, the Indian cricket team, known as the Men in Blue, were also engrossed in watching the momentous event unfold on screen.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video clip showcasing Team India players, including captain Jasprit Bumrah, Rinku Singh, and Ravi Bishnoi, among others, enthusiastically applauding the successful moon landing of Chandrayaan-3.

The caption of the post: “Witnessing History from Dublin! The moment India’s Vikram Lander touched down successfully on the Moon’s South Pole.”

Regarding this remarkable accomplishment, the head of ISRO, S Somnath, remarked: “India is on the Moon.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the scientists for their extraordinary achievement. He stated: “When we see such historic moments it makes us very proud. This is the dawn of new India. With the hard work of our scientists, we have reached there. India’s successful Moon mission is not just India’s alone…This success belongs to all of humanity.”

However, Team India’s third T20I against Ireland was abandoned without a ball being bowled. Notably, the Indian cricket team holds a 2-0 lead in the series, emerging victorious in the initial two matches by a margin of two runs (through the DLS method) and 33 runs, respectively.
