India heads home after a challenging and demanding tour of Australia, where the results fell short of expectations, culminating in a 1-3 series defeat. Despite starting strong with a win in the first Test in Perth, they were unable to maintain their momentum.
India suffered a loss in the second Test in Adelaide, settled for a draw in Brisbane, and were defeated in the final two Tests in Melbourne and Sydney. As a result, they were unable to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
What lies ahead for Team India?
After a 1-3 loss in the Test series against Australia, Team India will turn its attention to the white-ball format as they prepare to host England for a T20I and ODI series in January-February.
This home series against England will serve as a vital preparation for the Champions Trophy 2025, providing the team an opportunity to fine-tune their strategies and build momentum ahead of the prestigious ICC tournament.
To manage player workload and maintain peak fitness, a few key players might be rested during the England series, ensuring they are fresh and fully prepared for the challenges ahead.
Following their defeat in Australia, the Men in Blue will be determined to regain momentum with their sights firmly set on the Champions Trophy. India last won the tournament in 2013 and will be eager to end the drought.
