India created history the last time they played Australia in Brisbane
The last time India played Australia in Brisbane in a Test match was during the fourth and final Test of the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Australia won the toss and opted to bat first, scoring 369 runs in their first innings, with strong contributions from Marnus Labuschagne (108) and Tim Paine (50).
In reply, India faced early struggles, losing six wickets for 186 runs. However, Washington Sundar (62) and Shardul Thakur (67) mounted a recovery, helping India reach 336 in their first innings.
In Australia’s second innings, Steven Smith was the top scorer with 55, and they posted 294 runs, setting India a target of 328. Shubman Gill (91) and Cheteshwar Pujara (56) played key knocks, but it was Rishabh Pant who stole the spotlight with an unbeaten 89.
India successfully chased the target, winning by three wickets, securing the series 2-1, and handing Australia their first defeat at the Gabba in 32 years.
