Team India batter Tilak Varma shared a light-hearted exchange with left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh ahead of their T20 World Cup 2026 clash against Namibia. A video capturing the moment surfaced on social media, showing the duo appearing to be part of an advertisement shoot.

Arshdeep, 26, is well known for creating fun reels with several Indian cricketers. After the tournament opener against the USA in Mumbai, he was also spotted featuring in a video with skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who jokingly remarked that the seamer had secured the No. 8 spot in the batting order.

Below is the clip of Tilak and Arshdeep’s interaction, where the former can be heard saying:

“Cute lag raha hai lekin. (You look cute).”

In reply, the 23-year-old batter came up with a cheeky remark, saying:

“Bas kar de abhi, bore ho raha hai. (Please stop it, I’m bored now).”

Tilak Varma Scores Quick 25 In India’s T20 World Cup 2026 Opener

Meanwhile, playing his maiden T20 World Cup match, Tilak Varma scored a brisk 25 off 16 balls, hitting three boundaries and a six, but couldn’t convert it into a bigger knock as he became one of Shadley van Schalkwyk’s four dismissals.

Despite the hiccup, the defending champions survived a major scare and sealed a 29-run win after putting up a below-par 161 on a challenging pitch. Suryakumar Yadav was the standout performer, anchoring the innings with a crucial 84 off 49 deliveries, which included 10 fours and four sixes, especially after India slumped to 73/6.

The bowlers then complemented the skipper’s effort, with Mohammed Siraj leading the charge by claiming 3/29 in his four overs, while Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel chipped in with two wickets apiece. Team India will look to build on this momentum when they take on Namibia on Thursday, February 12.
