Indian pacer Umesh Yadav has been signed by Middlesex for the remainder of the County season. Umesh would be replacing Shaheen Afridi who has returned back to national duties for Pakistan. It’s a great signing by Middlesex considering the fact that Umesh Yadav has a very vast experience in international cricket.
Umesh has been included in the playing XI of their ongoing game against Worcestershire. Earlier, Umesh Yadav was supposed to join the team next week. But he has been included in the playing XI for current match itself which started on Monday. The veteran fast bowler took a brilliant wicket on the first day of the match. He broke the defence of T Cornwall and the stumps went flying in the air.

Middlesex Head of Performance Alan Coleman was excited to have Umesh Yadav representing their team. Alan Coleman said, “He is a proven world-class performer and can not only make a huge difference himself for the remainder of our Championship campaign and to our prospects in the Royal London Cup but will also be a fantastic role model for our younger bowlers to work alongside.”
“Umesh would be really handful in England” – Alan ColemanÂ
Umesh Yadav was part of the Indian test team for the England tour. He played in the warm up match, but didn’t find place in the playing XI against England. Washington Sundar would also be playing in Royal London Cup. Moreover, Cheteshwar Pujara also represented Sussex in County season.
Alan Coleman further said, “Umesh offers a huge amount of variations in bowling. He delivers the ball from wide of the crease, can move the ball both ways, regularly tops 140 kph, and possesses a vicious short ball. Umesh Yadav would be a real handful for opposition batters in English conditions.”
