Madsen defends the decision of Umpire
Derbyshire defeated Birmingham Bears by 7 wickets. Derbyshire successfully chased down the target with 11 balls remaining. Madsen played a vital knock of 55 runs in 34 balls which helped Derbyshire win the match. In the post match presentation, Madsen defended the decision of the umpire.
“The umpires deemed Carlos Brathwaite’s throw reckless and that is what it was. I was in my crease and he didn’t even look. Iknow it’s a competitive game but if that had hit me on the back of the head, like the umpires said, there is real trouble,” Madsen said.Â
