[WATCH]- Vaibhav Suryavanshi Steals The Show During India’s Net Session Before England Clash

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Team India’s teenage sensation, emerged as one of the standout performers in the nets ahead of the first T20I against England, playing several eye-catching shots to strengthen his case for a potential debut. The left-hander is still awaiting his maiden international appearance after missing out during India’s recent T20I series in Ireland.

Team India are scheduled to play a five-match T20I series against England away from home, beginning on Wednesday, July 1. The reigning world champions, now captained by Shreyas Iyer, will be aiming to return to winning ways following a shocking series whitewash against Ireland.

During the practice session, Vaibhav looked in sublime touch as he confidently danced down the track to launch big hits, while also showcasing powerful pull shots and elegant strokeplay along the ground as he continues to stay ready for his opportunity.

One of the standout moments was a sublime straight drive off Ravi Bishnoi, which was struck so cleanly that the spinner had to leap aside to avoid it. You can watch the video here:

“Same process for Vaibhav” — Team India coach ahead of ENG vs IND T20Is

Team India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate stated that Vaibhav Suryavanshi will need to remain patient for his opportunity, as the current opening pair has been an integral part of the setup for some time, including during India’s victorious ICC Men’s T20 World Cup campaign.

“He’s absolutely ready to play international cricket, there’s no doubt about that. But also, I think it’s not a question to say you can leave Sanju Samson out. A guy who went a long way to winning India the World Cup three months ago. A guy who’s had a fairly good IPL,” Ryan ten Doeschate said during the pre-series press conference (via India Today).

“It’s important in terms of giving players confidence, and the message we’re sending to players. We want to give guys a long run in the team. So, as ready as Vaibhav is and as excited as we are and you are to see him play, he’s going to have to go through the same process as everyone else and bide his time and wait. But certainly no questions about how good he is and how ready he is,” he added.
