The 58th match of the IPL 2025 between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at Dharamsala was abandoned on Thursday after 10.1 overs due to air raid alerts in nearby Indian cities of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.
A viral video showed one of the IPL cheerleaders recounting the panic and chaos at the stadium as both players and spectators were evacuated.
“The whole stadium was evacuated in the middle of the game. It was very scary. Everyone was screaming that the bombs are coming,” she said in the video.
“It is still very, very scary. We want to really go out of Dharamshala. I hope the IPL people are gonna look after us. It was very, very scary. I do not know why I’m not crying, I think I’m just in shock,” she said in the video as the stadium went dark.

Punjab Kings at 122/1 When Floodlight Failure Delays IPL 2025 Match Against Delhi Capitals
PBKS was cruising at 122/1, with Priyansh Arya scoring 70 off 34 balls and Prabhsimran Singh making 50 off 28. However, as captain Shreyas Iyer walked out to bat, the floodlights failed, causing a delay.
Soon after, the 23,000-capacity stadium in Dharamsala was evacuated under heavy security as Pakistan launched drone strikes in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan. The teams are set to be flown to Delhi from Pathankot, located 85 km from Dharamsala.
The match’s cancellation has raised concerns about the future of the entire IPL season, with escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Foreign players have reportedly expressed their intention to return home as soon as possible, according to PTI sources. IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal stated that the situation was under review.
“It is an evolving situation. We have not received any directives from the government yet. The decision will be made considering all logistical factors,” he said.
