Rohit Sharma has provided Team India with a strong start in the 2nd Test against England at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Meanwhile, one of his outstanding cover drives made skipper Virat Kohli ecstatic, and the animated campaigner looked flabbergasted with the shot from Rohit.
Meanwhile, the host made three changes going into this Test match after a humiliating defeat in the series opener. Jasprit Bumrah, Shahbaz Nadeem, and Washington Sundar were left out in favour of Mohammed Siraj, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav while England also made four changes to the side.
The visitors humbled India soon after the match started as Olly Stone, who is only playing his first Test in India and second overall, struck with a brilliant incoming delivery to draw the first blood. He struck on Shubman Gill’s pad, who didn’t offer any shot and Nitin Menon didn’t hesitate to raise his finger.
Virat Kohli impressed with Rohit Sharma’s cover drive
Since then, India looked in complete control of the match with Rohit Sharma playing a couple of magical shot all across the park. The India skipper Virat Kohli came up with an incredible gesture after Rohit hit a four on day one of the ongoing second Test against England.
Kohli was seen applauding Rohit after the latter hit the first four of India’s innings. Batting first, India got their first boundary in the third over when the opening batsman played a trademark cover drive off Stuart Broad to open his account. It was an overpitched delivery outside the off stump from Broad and Rohit made sure to give the delivery the treatment it deserved.
