Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings are facing each other at Brabourne stadium in the ongoing season of Indian Premier League. RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to field first.
While chasing the mammoth target of 210 runs set by Punjab Kings, all the eyes once again were on Virat Kohli. Former RCB captain started his innings in style. He hit crunch fours on the bowling of Arshdeep and a huge six on bowling of Harpreet Brar. Punjab called back Kagiso Rabada to give them breakthroughs.
Rabada didn’t disappoint and he got the wicket of Virat Kohli on his 2nd ball of the spell. Virat scored 20 runs in 14 balls. He tried to make room and pull the short ball of Rabada. The ball got a thin touch on the gloves of Virat and went straight into the hands of Rahul Chahar. Third umpire didn’t give it out initially.
PBKS immediately asked for a review and the third umpire declared it out after there was a little spike on the snickometer when the ball was near Virat’s gloves. Kohli looked disappointed with his wicket as he was looking in good touch. Virat looked towards the sky and said a few words in disappointment.

Great players go through phases like this – Faf Du Plessis
Earlier when asked about the bad form of Virat, Faf Du Plessis backed Virat to be back among runs. Faf said, “Great players go through phases like this and we wanted to get him in the game straightaway so that he doesn’t sit in the sidelines and think about the game. It’s a game of confidence.”
Virat Kohli has been in terrible form in IPL 2022. He has scored just 236 runs in 13 innings at a poor average of 19 and a Strike rate of 113. He has managed to score just one fifty-plus score. Virat also failed to open his account on three occasions in IPL 2022.
