Star India batter Virat Kohli produced a breathtaking stroke off Arshdeep Singh during a practice session on Saturday, January 17, in the lead-up to the third and final ODI of the three-match series against New Zealand, set to be played in Indore on Sunday, January 18.
In India’s net session ahead of the contest, Kohli appeared in excellent rhythm as he unleashed a commanding shot off Arshdeep, dispatching the ball over the long-on area. You can watch the video here:

Meanwhile, Kohli’s numbers at the Holkar Cricket Stadium are modest, with just 99 runs from three innings at an average of 33.00 and a strike rate of 108.79. The Delhi-born batter will be eager to better those figures when India take on the Black Caps in the series decider. Kohli had an impressive start to the series in Vadodara, scoring 93 off 91 balls to guide India to a four-wicket win while chasing 301.
However, he was unable to carry that momentum into the second ODI in Rajkot, managing just 23 off 29 balls under pressure. India also went down by seven wickets while defending 284, as Daryl Mitchell led New Zealand’s charge with a brilliant unbeaten 131 from 117 balls.
Virat Kohli Tops ICC ODI Batting Rankings With 785 Rating Points
Virat Kohli has stepped away from T20Is and Tests and is now active only in ODIs at the international level, where he currently leads the batting rankings with 785 rating points. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell is close behind on 784 points, while Rohit Sharma sits third with 775 points.
The 37-year-old continues to be the second-highest run-scorer in the format, having played 310 matches and amassed a massive 14,673 runs at an impressive average of 58.45 and a strike rate of 93.67. His remarkable tally includes 77 half-centuries and 53 centuries.
