Virat Kohli Continues Stellar Run In 50-Over Cricket
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has been enjoying a strong run in the 50-over format. He endured a difficult start to the ODI series against Australia in October, getting out for back-to-back ducks in the opening two matches. However, he bounced back in style in the third ODI with an unbeaten 74.
The ICC’s No. 2-ranked ODI batter then carried that momentum into the home series against South Africa, registering scores of 135, 102 and an unbeaten 65 as India secured a 2–1 series win. The 37-year-old was adjudged Player of the Series after piling up 302 runs in three innings at a staggering average of 151.
His next appearance for India is set to come in the ODI series against New Zealand, which begins on January 21.
