Virat Kohli regained his form with a brilliant half-century in the third ODI against England in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, February 12. The Indian batting star was in a lively mood during England’s innings and had a playful exchange with all-rounder Liam Livingstone, his new teammate at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

During a brief break in play, Kohli approached Livingstone with a playful grin and took his bat, briefly shadow-batting with it to the amusement of fans. A video of the lighthearted moment quickly went viral and was later shared on Instagram. You can watch the clip here:

The video has already garnered over 10,000 likes on Instagram. As expected, Kohli was met with loud cheers from the Ahmedabad crowd every time the ball came his way or whenever he glanced toward a specific section of the stands, just as he does in stadiums around the world.

Virat Kohli and Liam Livingstone Set to Team Up for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025

Although Kohli and Livingstone played on opposing sides during the India vs England series, they will be teammates at Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025. Kohli was RCB’s top retention ahead of the mega auction, with the franchise securing his services for a massive ₹21 crore.

Livingstone, meanwhile, was among the many overseas players acquired by RCB at the auction. The dynamic English all-rounder previously played for Punjab Kings, but PBKS chose not to retain him, allowing RCB to snap him up for ₹8.75 crore.

Chennai Super Kings also showed strong interest in Livingstone but eventually withdrew from the intense bidding war after their final offer of ₹8.5 crore. Known for his explosive batting, powerful six-hitting ability, and handy part-time spin, Livingstone will add much-needed firepower to RCB’s squad.
