Several thousands of fans attended Virat Kohli’s comeback match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium after he had been absent from domestic cricket for 12 years. The spectators flooded the stadium to watch Kohli bat in Delhi’s Ranji Trophy encounter with Railways.
The fielding position allowed Kohli to express his excitement, which he demonstrated by waving to the stadium spectators. The crowd turned out optimistic to see his return but received disappointment when his appearance at bat ended fast.
Kohli waited until the 24th over on Day 2, when Yash Dhull got dismissed by Rahul Sharma to enter the batting rotation. Every spectator at the stadium cheered loudly during Kohli’s entrance to bat because he used to captain India but his batting run slowed down the audience’s anticipation.

Virat Kohli made a much-anticipated Ranji Trophy comeback after 12 years and three months but spent only fifteen balls on the field. Railways seamer Himanshu Sangwan, who serves as a ticket collector at the New Delhi Railway Station, accomplished the feat by taking out Kohli in his very first delivery for a 6 run.
The sold-out stadium containing 10,000 spectators witnessed Kohli’s dismissal as Sangwan removed the stump. Kohli showed disappointment with his head movement before he spent a few seconds at the dugout and left. The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) welcomed every spectator into the Arun Jaitley Stadium due to its expectations of witnessing an exciting Kohli performance.
Sangwan delivered an outstanding bowling display, which forced Kohli into leaving the match with six runs scored. The stadium spectators, along with the DDCA organization, showed their dissatisfaction at this result. The moment Kohli returned to the playing field brought joy to spectators for just 23 minutes.
