Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is known for his aggression and lively celebrations. When on the field, the right-handed batter does not hold back from showing his emotions. In another such incident, Virat Kohli’s wild celebration after Alex Lees’ dismissal went viral on Monday. The England batter was going great guns in the second innings of the fifth Test match, chasing 378.

Alex Lees’ opened the innings along with Zak Crawley for England. He began taking on the Indian bowlers early in the innings, with a tough target on the board. Lees quickly raced to his fifty in the fifteenth over, off just forty-four deliveries. The openers had put on 76 runs together, with Lees looking set for a big score. However, Alex Lees slowed down a bit after his fifty, as a couple of wickets fell from the other end.

In the twenty-fifth over, Ravindra Jadeja bowled a flighted delivery outside off stump, which Lees tried to push it. However, the ball took the inside edge and went towards the short fine. Root at the other end kept running, but Lees was late to react to it and was run out at the end for 56 runs. The England openers’ dismissal pumped up Virat Kohli who when on a celebratory run, roaring, and punching in the air.

England eyes historic win at the Edgbaston, Birmingham

England is in a strong position at the end of the fourth day’s play on Monday, July 4 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. Chasing 378 runs, the hosts require 119 runs with seven wickets in hand. Former England skipper Joe Root and in-form batter Jonny Bairstow are at the crease, having scored 76* and 72* respectively.

The Root-Bairstow duo capitalized on the start provided by the openers, Alex Lees and Zak Crawley. Lees scored 56 runs, while Crawley missed out on his fifty by four runs. England is 259/3 at the end of day four, eyeing a historic win at the Edgbaston. If England manages to chase down the target, it will be the highest fourth-innings total chased down at Birmingham.
