Dwayne Bravo’s teammates-Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Andre Fletcher, Fabian Allen and Sunil Narine can also be seen in the teaser dancing along with him. The chorus of the song says “We are the World Champions” implying that the track will be about the triumph of the West Indies in the 2016 T20 World Cup. In Kolkata, at the Eden Gardens, West Indies had defeated England in the tournament final to win the global title.
Bravo’s 2016 single named “Champion” was a major hit as its music video garnered more than 100 million views on Youtube. It almost became like an anthem for the Caribbean team during the 2016 T20 world cup.
Dwayne Bravo-The T20 Legend
Dwayne Bravo has represented West Indies in 40 Tests, 164 One-Day Internationals, and 86 Twenty-20 Internationals. He led St Kitts & Nevis Patriots to their first Caribbean Premier League title this year. Bravo added yet another trophy to his glittering trophy cabinet when Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021 final on October 15. The Trinidadian now holds the record for the most T20 championship victories (16) in cricket.
Meanwhile, West Indies lost their warm-up matches against Pakistan and Afghanistan. The team was criticized for their slow run rate. The West Indies’ batters, who are known for their power-hitting failed to gain momentum in both matches. They would surely like to address this issue ahead of the main event. On October 23, they will start their campaign in Dubai against England in a repeat of the T20 World Cup 2016 final.
