[WATCH]- Yashasvi Jaiswal Sends Lungi Ngidi’s Delivery Flying For A Stunning Six

India’s star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal struck a spectacular six off South Africa pacer Lungi Ngidi during the third ODI at Visakhapatnam on Saturday, December 6. Batting first, India had bowled South Africa out for 270 in 47.5 overs, and Jaiswal walked out with Rohit Sharma to begin the chase.

On the first ball of the sixth over, Jaiswal unleashed a powerful shot, sending Ngidi’s delivery soaring over the ground for a massive six. Ngidi bowled a full-length ball outside off-stump from around the wicket, and Jaiswal moved across slightly, got into position, and struck it perfectly straight down the ground.

The 77-meter maximum came cleanly off the middle of the bat. The crack of the bat made it instantly obvious that the ball was destined to cross the boundary. You can watch the video here:

Jaiswal and Rohit provided India with a solid start in their run chase. The pair put together an unbeaten 48 runs in the first powerplay and went on to surpass a 50-run partnership.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Faces A Tough Series So Far

Yashasvi Jaiswal earned a spot in the ODI side after Shubman Gill was sidelined with a neck injury, but he has struggled to capitalize on his opportunities in the two matches played so far. The left-hander has found it difficult to make an impact in the 50-over format.

In the series opener, Jaiswal got off to a promising start but was dismissed for 18 off 16 balls, hitting two boundaries and a six. His fortunes didn’t improve in the second game, as he managed only 22 runs off 38 deliveries. Even in the ongoing third ODI, he has been slow at the crease, scoring 27 runs off 52 balls by the 15th over.

With India chasing a total above 300, Jaiswal has the luxury to pace his innings and aim for a big score. In his three previous ODI matches, he has accumulated just 55 runs at an average of 18.33. The 23-year-old will be eager to finish the series on a high note.
