Team India all-rounders Deepak Chahar and Axar Patel engaged in fun banter after the conclusion of the first ODI against Zimbabwe. The duo had a brilliant outing in the match on Thursday, August 18 at the Harare Sports Club. They ran through the Zimbabwe batting attack to dismiss them for 189 runs in the first innings. In response, India won the match by 10 wickets.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India shared a video on their social media featuring Axar Patel and Deepak Chahar. The duo talked about their performance in the match and also pulled each other’s legs in the video. Deepak Chahar even joked that Axar Patel has taken someone else’s place as the show host for BCCI, hinting at Yuzvendra Chahal.

“I’ve come from Florida to Harare and today we have Deepak Chahar with us. What was your mindset when you came to Zimbabwe?”, Axar said as he began the interview along with Deepak Chahar.

“I was waiting for a long time to play. It was a tough time, but the good thing is that it keeps changing. You say how you are performing so well for such a long time? You have taken over someone’s place,” replied Deepak Chahar.

Axar Patel then pointed out how Deepak Chahar keeps making comebacks despite injuries. He said, “You keep making strong comebacks.” However, Deepak continued the banter further and said, “You keep taking the interview.”

The duo burst into laughter as Axar Patel said, “No, no! What will [Yuzvendra] Chahal bhai do (Chahal TV bhi to chalana hai).”
