Pakistan has produced some of the fastest bowlers in the world in world cricket. Mohammad Wsaim Jr is the latest name to join that elite list. He bowled a rapid spell in the first T20I against West Indies in Karachi and grabbed eyeballs with his pace. He ended with figures of 4/40 and dismissed the likes of Nicholas Pooran among the wickets he took.

Courtesy Mohammad Wasim Jr’s spell, the Men in Green bundled out the Windies for just 131 who were chasing a target ot 201. Wasim bowled accurate yorkers with all of his four dismissals hitting the stumps.

The youngster bowled an absolute peach of a delivery to get the better of Pooran in the 4th over of West Indies’ innings. Wasim got the better of Devon Thomas in his next over and the Pakistani pacer also cleaned up Romario Shepherd and Oshane Thomas to register a match-winning four-wicket haul against the former world champions. A video of Wasim’s bowling masterclass against the Windies has also garnered the attention of netizens on social media.

Mohammad Wasim Took 4/40

Pakistan continued its domination in the format in 2021 winning 18 straight games to create a record of its own. The win in the first ODI was the 19th for Pakistan in T20I cricket this year. They are the team with the most T20I wins this year.

Mohammed Rizwan also continued his good form opening the batting for Pakistan. In this match, he found a partner in Haider Ali after Babar Azam was dismissed for a duck.

“The way we batted. The way Rizwan batted, and Haider, and the way we continued the momentum. The finish from Nawaz was outstanding. Spinners were getting good help. They put pressure on them. Will go back and see what combination we’ll have for tomorrow” Babar said after Pakistan’s win in the first T20I on Monday.

Both teams are playing the second T20I in Karachi on Tuesday. Pakistan has won the toss and opted to bat. The Windies need to win the match to keep the series alive.
