[WATCH] Yuzvendra Chahal Appears For Divorce Hearing In Mumbai Court Before IPL 2025 Opener

Yuzvendra Chahal and his estranged wife, Dhanashree Verma, appeared in the family court in Bandra, Mumbai, on Thursday, March 20, for a hearing on their divorce plea filed by mutual consent on February 5. Chahal, who plays for Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year, entered wearing a mask as he arrived at the court.

Both rushed inside the court, perhaps avoiding the marauding media. They had since been separating with effect from June 2022, 18 months after tying the knot. A family court had declined to waive the compulsory six-month cooling-off period on February 20, even though they had mutual consent for divorce.

Taking heed of those legal luminaries who have called the Bombay High Court to action in future pursuits of their legal eye on the family court on behalf of Chahal, his previous commitments with Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 are the reason; the family court is inclined towards giving the verdict sooner than later, preferably by March 20.

Chahal was seen training with the Punjab Kings squad at their city venue, Chandigarh, earlier this week. The cricketer arrived in Mumbai and reached the court on Thursday afternoon, just two days before the start of the IPL 2025.

The divorce has been ongoing for a time now, and the couple is waiting to hear more about their fate in the end. The cricketing fraternity has been talking about the couple; their separation has not been less than a hot topic on the lips of many. They married in 2021, and their marriage couldn’t last that long.

Even as the IPL 2025 season is ready to get underway, Chahal will now focus all his energy on cricket. A divorce plea verdict is set to arrive very soon, closing this chapter of his life.
