Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya has asserted that they are not here prove anything in IPL 2022 and will enjoy their cricket when they take the field. This will be Gujarat’s first stint in the cash-rich league and the franchise will hope to produce their best cricket.
Hardik, who will captain an IPL side for the first time, mentioned that he has been happy with the new team. The all-rounder added that he doesn’t have any expectations and wants the team to be on the improving end.
Speaking in a video posted on IPL’s Twitter handle, Hardik Pandya said:
“I am quite happy with the team, it is a new team. To be honest, we are not here to prove anything, we are here to play good cricket. We are here to make sure the environment is right and players can flourish. There is no expectation as such, we are going to be a team which will make sure that it keeps improving.”

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans have already suffered a blow with star opener Jason Roy pulling out of the tournament. They franchise has replaced him with Afghanistan batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who will be making his first appearance in the IPL.
“Success Is The Team’s And Failure Is Mine” – Hardik Pandya
During the jersey launch of the franchise, Hardik spoke about how he would like to motivate the youngsters in the team, and how the backseat would be his when it comes to enjoying the success.
“My philosophy for this season is a success is theirs and failure is mine,” said Hardik during the jersey launch event.
Gujarat Titans would open their campaign on March 28 against fellow debutants Lucknow Super Giants.
