Team India skipper Rohit Sharma has dismissed concerns over Virat Kohli’s form in overseas conditions in Test cricket. He expressed that he has spoken about the veteran batter’s form many times, and added that the Indian team management does not worry about the outside noise regarding the player’s form.

Virat Kohli ended a 5-year overseas Test century drought in the recently concluded series against West Indies. He slammed 121 runs in the second Test at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. He finished the series with 197 runs in two innings at an average of 98.50. Before the start of the series, there were questions raised about his form in overseas conditions.

“I have answered this question multiple times. The outside noise, who has scored how much or has taken how many wickets or hasn’t taken… People sitting outside, when they talk, they don’t know what is happening inside,” said Rohit Sharma at a press conference ahead of the ODI series against West Indies.

Inside talks remain inside: Rohit Sharma

Team India skipper Rohit Sharma further expressed that focus is on winning the series. India won the Test series 1-0, after the second test ended in a draw, owing to heavy rains on the fifth day. Rohit added that he has said is previously as well that team’s discussion about players will remain in the dressing rooms. He said,

“Inside talks remain inside and we want it to stay inside only. We don’t look into all those things. For us, it is important how we win a win or a series. Our focus is on that instead of who is talking what. This is something that I have said a number of times and in future as well I will say this only.”

The three-match ODI series between India and West Indies will begin on Thursday, July 27 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
