Assistant coach Lance Klusener stated that Lucknow has not been consistent enough and is in danger of being eliminated from the competition.

The Super Giants were performing well until the IPL 2024 entered the home stretch and were in contention for the playoffs before losing four of their last five matches, stalling their progress.

The team owner, Sajiv Goenka, publicly lost his cool inside the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium following their humiliating 10-wicket loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad during this terrible run.

“We just lacked consistency at the end of the tournament. I’m not sure we had those partnerships as batting units; I’m not sure we had that consistency from players. That’s what contributed to the two weeks where we didn’t show any potential. The team struggled with a few injuries in the bowling attack as well, but in the end, no excuses. We had that opportunity to play better, and we haven’t.” Lance Klusener said this in the pre-match press conference before his team clashed with the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday.

“KL Rahul’s probably a little bit frustrated about his performances”- Lance Klusener

Lance Klusener, the assistant coach for LSG, feels that KL Rahul has had a fantastic IPL 2024 season as captain, but he was disappointed by the other hitters’ lack of contribution. Although the owner of his team publicly chastised and disregarded him during the ICC T20 World Cup, Lance Klusener, the assistant coach for the Lucknow Super Giants, feels that KL Rahul had a fantastic season leading the team in the IPL 2024, but he was disappointed by the other batters’ lack of effort.’

“I think he’s probably a little bit frustrated about his performances over the tournament. I think he’s had to rebuild a lot of the times we’ve lost wickets around him. We haven’t allowed him to play his natural game. So it’s easy to just sit and think, ‘Oh, well, he hasn’t had a great tournament’. But if you look at his numbers, they’re actually not bad at all, considering the circumstances that he’s had to bat. He’s a great cricketer and has the respect of the group,” Lance Klusener added.

Rahul has scored 465 runs in 13 matches, with an average of 35.7 and a strike rate of 136.36. He had three fifties and a best score of 82.
