Australia opening batsman Travis Head has spoken about his side’s below par show in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India. Essense a tailender, the hosts received a 295-run defeat in Perth here, with Head proving a silver lining in the second innings by riding in a quick 89. But even for all his pleas, he conceded that the team already knows what went wrong and would like to fix it.
Head has urged the Australian side to produce more energy in the pink ball test match. He also feels that the team must step up and be much more forceful in the next game.
At the moment the series stands 1-0 with India coming out as the winner and now it is up to Australia to come from behind and make it 1-1. It is obvious that Head’s words indicate that the team is willing and understands they have made some wrongdoing and would be willing to work harder to pull themselves up.
This Team Has Dealt With Adversity Well – Travis Head

Australia’s Travis Head has admitted that the team performed poorly in the first Test against India. Despite the loss by 295 runs, Head made it clear that the team is now targeting the remaining four games in the series.
Head pointed out that most teams have been able to come back from a poor start in a series. He said that Australia is also capable of doing it and the team thinks about the next match to change the fortunes.
“This team has dealt with adversity well. We Know What We Did Wrong In Perth. The small amount that we have had in the last three or four years, we have played well. We’ve had some challenging times and a couple of challenging Tests last year that we’re able to get ourselves out of … it’s a group that is well balanced and knows where it’s at,” Head said.
“We didn’t have a very good week. That’s fine. But we have got four more opportunities to do it, we will crack on as we do, as we have done for the last few years. As a team we’ve been good for a period of time—we had a bad week. Over the last couple of years, there’s a lot of teams that lost the first Test or gone down in the series and brought it back and played really well” Travis Head added.
