“We Never Give Big Statements” – Virender Sehwag Gives Reason Behind India’s Dominant Run Against Pakistan

Team India will begin their ICC T20 World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24 (Sunday) in Dubai. Ahead of the high-voltage clash, former opener Virender Sehwag has revealed why Men in Blues are so dominant against their neighbours.

The former opener from Najafgarh believes the key reason for the team having an upper hand over arch-rivals Pakistan is because they never give big statements whatsoever. Virender Sehwag also said the Indian team handles pressure situations well and gives importance to preparation rather than believing in giving statements.

“If I talk about the 2011 World Cup or the 2003 World Cup, we are under less pressure because our position remains better than Pakistan in the World Cup. So in my opinion, when we play with that attitude, we never give big statements. There are always some big statements from the Pakistani side like he [Pakistani news anchor] said at the starting of his show that.

“We are going to change the date”. India never says such things because they go better prepared. And when you go better prepared, you already know what the result would be,” Virender Sehwag said to ABP News.

Virender Sehwag feels the format of T20 is unpredictable, and a single player can shift the momentum within a few balls. Sehwag feels Pakistan have got better chances to defeat India during the T20 format.

“If we talk about the current scenario and this format, then I think this is where Pakistan always has more chances because they might not play that well in the longer 50-over format. In this format, even one player can defeat any team. But still, Pakistan hasn’t been able to do that, we’ll see what happens on the 24th (October),” Virender Sehwag concluded.
