“What A Moment!”- Fans React To South Africa Crush England To Enter Maiden ICC Women’s World Cup Final
South Africa

The women’s team of South Africa made a grand entry into the ICC Women’s World Cup final for the first time with a huge victory of 125 runs over England at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday.

The match was an overall performance by the team, with Laura Wolvaardt’s 169 and Marizanne Kapp’s five-wicket haul as the major credit, which helped South Africa to eliminate the defending champions and to claim a historic seat in the title match.

South Africa, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, scored a massive 319 runs for the fall of seven wickets and later their bowlers also delivered a spectacular performance to restrict the opponents to only 194 runs in 42.3 overs.

This victory was the first ever knockout win for South Africa in World Cup history and it may open the door to their first ever ICC title. Their next task will be just waiting to find out who their final opponent is between India and Australia on Thursday, as they will face the winner of semi-final 2.

South African bowlers dominate as England collapses:

The early collapse brought down England, whose target was 320. The innings started and ended with no partnerships and no momentum; they went from 1 for 3 to eventually getting bowled out for 194. Nadine de Klerk (2 for 24) and Nonkululeko Mlaba (1 for 40) were really effective and helped a lot in getting Kapp’s hot spell translated into a big win.
Linsey Smith (27 off 36) was the only one to fight back towards the end, but it was too late and too small a contribution. South African bowlers stuck to their plan perfectly with accurate lengths and clever changes, thereby not giving England any chance to catch their breath.
