World’s number one ranked batter in the shortest format and India’s Mr 360, Suryakumar Yadav brings up his third T20I century against Sri Lanka in the final T20I. This adds him to the list of elite batters who have 3 or more centuries in this format. Yadav is only behind Rohit Sharma who has four centuries in this format.

However, Suryakumar Yadav remained unbeaten at 112 runs off 51 balls striking at 219.61. His knock consisted of seven fours and nine sixes. He spared none of the bowlers and dispatched them all around the ground.

Let’s take a look at some of the Twitter reactions to the knock on Suryakumar Yadav:

Suryakumar Yadav is in sublime form

India won the toss and opted to bat first in the decider at Rajkot. The playing 11 remained the same from the previous game. The hosts lost Ishan Kishan early and then Rahul Tripathi took the attack to the bowlers scoring  35 runs in 16 balls striking in excess of 200. After his dismissal came Suryakumar Yadav and then he just continuously kept dispatching the ball in the stands. They ended with a score of 229-5.

Even though wickets fell at the other Suryakumar held the crease at the other end and continued the flow of runs. Axar Patel’s cameo off 21 runs in 9 balls propelled India to their final score of 229. The visitors didn’t get off to the best of starts in the run chase and kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. None of the batters got a start. At the end of the 10-over mark, the visitors scored 91-4.

India won the first one at Wankhede stadium and Sri Lanka won the second one at Pune. Both were incredibly close encounters.  The T20I series will be followed by a three-match ODI series which will mark the World Cup preparations for both teams.
