Team India batter Tilak Varma revealed his celebration after reaching a fifty in the second T20I against West Indies was for Rohit Sharma’s daughter, Samaira Sharma. He top-scored in the innings for Team India on Sunday, August 6 at Providence Stadium in Guyana. His knock was one of the highlights of the match.
Batting first, Team India put on 152 runs on the board, on the back of Tilak Varma’s fifty. He scored 51 runs off 41 deliveries, with five boundaries and a six. This was his maiden T20I half-century. The left-hander did a unique celebration for his achievement. He revealed that the celebration was for Rohit Sharma’s daughter, Samaira, with whom he shares a great bond. In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Tilak said,
“It (celebration) was all about Sammy (Samaira), Rohit bhai’s daughter. Our relation is really good so I had decided that whenever I score a century or a fifty, then I will do the fun celebration. We both play with each other that way so I did the celebration for Sammy.”

Tilak Varma reveals Rohit Sharma’s advice
Tilak Varma plays under Rohit Sharma for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. He expressed that the skipper has been a support system for him. He also revealed that Rohit Sharma asked him to enjoy the game. Speaking post the second T20I against West Indies, Tilak Varma said,
“Of course, I will be talking to him (Rohit Sharma) because he has been a support system for me always. He said to enjoy the game and always talks with me about the game, how to play international cricket. It has really helped me.”
Team India lost the second T20I by two wickets. Nicholas Pooran won the Player of the Match for his 40-ball 67-run knock. India made a good comeback in the match reducing West Indies to 129/8. However, Alzarri Joseph and Akeal Hosein ensure West Indies crossed the target. The hosts are 2-0 up in the five-match T20I series.
