Team India batter Virat Kohli displayed a terrific batting performance against West Indies in the second Test at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad. He brought up his 29th Test century on the second day of the Test match. His partnership with Ravindra Jadeja steadied the Indian innings in the match.

Virat Kohli walked out to bat on the first day after Shubman Gill’s dismissal. The batter took his time to get settled at the crease, however, wickets kept falling at the other end. India lost skipper Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane and was reduced to 182 runs for the loss of four wickets. Kohli took on the charge with Ravindra Jadeja to pull India out of trouble.

In the ninety-first over, Shannon Gabriel bowled a full delivery outside off stump. Virat Kohli got across and played a square drive for a boundary. He brought up his century with the boundary, making his landmark 500th Test memorable. This is Virat Kohli’s 29th century in Test cricket, equaling Don Bradman’s record.

This was also his first Test century in overseas conditions in five years. His last ton in overseas Tests came in December 2018 when India toured Australia. In 110 Test matches, he has scored over 8500 runs, with 29 centuries and as many fifties. Overall, this was the former Indian skipper’s 76 century in International cricket.
