Team India’s tour of the West Indies 2023 is all set to get underway on Wednesday, July 12 in Dominica. The two teams will kick off the tour with a two-match Test series at Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica. This will be their first assignment in the 2023-25 World Test Championship cycle.

Team India lost to Australia in the final of the last cycle, while West Indies finished eighth. Both teams will be keen to begin the new cycle with a win. Team India will be confident heading into the series, as they have a great record against West Indies. They have not lost a test match against West Indies in 21 years. It will be a tough task for the hosts to break the jinx.

– Team India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is three wickets away from completing 700 International wickets. He has 697 wickets in 270 matches at an average of 25.93, including seven ten-wicket hauls. He will become the third India to go past the 700-wicket mark. Ashwin also needs 12 wickets to complete 100 wickets against West Indies in International cricket.

– West Indies pacer Kemar Roach needs four wickets to complete 400 International wickets. He has taken 396 wickets in 183, with fourteen five-wicket hauls and a ten wicket-haul. He will become the fifth West Indies bowler to take 400 International wickets, after Courtney Walsh, Curtly Ambrose, Malcolm Marshall, and Joel Garner.

– Team India batter Virat Kohli has scored 8479 runs in Test cricket. He needs 25 more runs to surpass Virender Sehwag in the list of Most runs in Test cricket for Team India. Kohli currently ranks sixth on the list. He also needs 150 runs to become the fifth-leading run-scorer in international cricket.  

–  Shubman Gill and Joshua Da Silva are nearing 1000 runs in Test cricket. Gill needs 79 more runs, while Joshua Da Silva needs 143 runs to get to the milestone.

– Rohit Sharma has taken 195 catches in International cricket. He needs five more to complete 200 catches across formats. Rohit Sharma also needs 63 runs to complete 3500 runs in Test cricket.
