The breakthrough occurred during the 52nd over of West Indies’ innings when Mukesh dismissed Kirk McKenzie, an accomplished left-handed batter.

West Indies were trailing by 321 runs in their pursuit of India’s formidable total of 438, built on the solid performances of Virat Kohli (121 off 206 balls) and Rohit Sharma (80 off 143 balls).

Prior to this, Ravindra Jadeja had made his presence felt by dismissing West Indies’ opener, Tangerine Chanderpaul, using clever tactics to force him into a hasty shot outside the off-stump, which ended in an edge to Ravichandran Ashwin at third man.
