Ahead of the third T20I against West Indies at Guyana’s Providence Stadium on Tuesday, August 8th, Yashasvi Jaiswal was presented his debut cap by vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav. The left-handed batter replaced Ishan Kishan, who scored 6 (9) and 27 (23) in the first two games. The change was made as Kishan hadn’t reached fifty in his last 16 T20Is.
The video shared by Jio Cinema shows Jaiswal receiving a T20I cap from Yadav, who imparts some meaningful advice during this significant moment. After his impressive performances for Rajasthan Royals in the recent Indian Premier League, Jaiswal earned a spot in the T20I squad for the five-match series against West Indies.
With one hundred and five fifties, the left-handed batter scored 635 runs in 14 matches at a remarkable strike rate of 163.61. Additionally, he debuted in Tests against West Indies, accumulating 266 runs in two games.
