WI vs IND: [WATCH] Ishan Kishan’s Stump Mic Warning To Shubman Gill About Rohit Sharma Goes Viral

In the lead-up to the 65th over of the West Indies innings, Ishan Kishan was overheard cautioning Shubman Gill to be wary of Rohit Sharma. Both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan had a promising start to their Test careers as they made their debut for India in red-ball cricket.

During the first India vs West Indies Test match in Dominica, the two debutants displayed composure and confidence on Day 1. Despite Kishan’s experience in white-ball cricket for India, he took a backseat to Jaiswal, who garnered most of the attention.

Kishan was included in the Test squad in place of KS Bharat, who had not made much of an impact in the five Tests he had played. Although doubts were raised about Kishan’s wicket-keeping abilities, he proved his mettle behind the stumps from the start.

His impressive low diving catch off Shardul Thakur’s bowling earned him his first Test wicket. Additionally, he showcased his keeping skills by taking a sharp catch off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery during the second session.

In addition to his wicket-keeping skills, Kishan’s constant banter behind the stumps drew attention on Day 1. His lively remarks and funny verbal exchanges with the West Indies batsmen and Indian fielders partially made up for the absence of Rishabh Pant.

Kishan was also observed giving instructions to captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and other fielders. However, his conversation with Shubman Gill stood out.

Just before the start of the 65th over, Kishan was caught on the stump microphone warning Gill to be cautious of Rohit Sharma, saying, “Rohit bhai (Rohit Sharma) phir gaali denge tereko (Rohit Sharma will abuse you again).”

The video of this incident quickly went viral, and soon after, Ravichandran Ashwin claimed the final wicket, thanks to a sharp catch by Gill.

India managed to bowl out West Indies for 150 runs after choosing to bat first, with Ashwin’s exceptional figures of 5/60 breaking several records.

In response, Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma displayed flawless batting, bringing India close to taking the lead. By lunch on Day 2, India had reached 146/0, with Jaiswal (62*) and Rohit (68*) firmly at the crease.
